Manufacturers of a new pill called, ‘Zytaze’ claim that it will help women maintain their young look for months after they have taken a Botox injection.
Although cosmetic injections claim to combat wrinkles, the downside to these shots is that they last for barely three months. Researchers claim that the new pill can make the wrinkle-smoothing effect brought in by botox injection last for 30 percent longer.
During clinical trials of the pill, patients who were administered Zytaze reported that the botox injection started to take effect faster and the wrinkle-smoothing effect lasted for several weeks longer than normal. Zytaze contains zinc and an enzyme called ‘phytase’ which assist in the absorption of the vitamins.
A package of ten pills costs around 45 pounds while zinc supplements cost around eight pounds for 100 tablets. US drug manufacturer, Eden Aesthetics stated that taking a cheaper zinc supplement will not give the same effect. Researchers claim that the new pill is unique and will eventually reduce the cost incurred for botox shots especially for regular users.
Researchers said that patients who are ready to take Zytaze in order to have desired effect should consume two Zytaze pills of 25 mg per day over a span of four days before and on the day of getting the botox injection.
